It snowed for the first time in Utah on Saturday.
Well snow in the valley anyway.
I have mixed feelings about snow.
I like it when it is falling.
But it can pretty much get lost after that.
Oh and it hardly ever snows on Christmas.
So after the snow has fallen in Utah it usually just stays in the mountains.
And brings in freezing winds.
And I do mean FREEZING winds!
I have been coveting scarfs on Pinterest lately.
And found a tutorial from Pink Lemonade.
It was easy for a beginner sewer such as myself.
I made it in about 10 minutes.
Including CUTTING!
My neck won't be cold this winter!
I am going to make more in different colors.
I love me some ruffles!
As always you can find me linking here.
Your scarf turned out so cute! Only 10 minutes? Now way! I'm going to go check out the tutorial now.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of fabric did you use? On her tutorial it says 1 yard of fabric but not what kind.
ReplyDeleteI used a jersey knit. I just used something I knew wouldn't fray.

Im confused by the sewing do you sew each side (right and left) twice?(once on the front side and once on the back??) I have looked on her blog and I cannot figure it out. I'm a brand new sewer if you couldn't tell ;P
ReplyDeleteKelsey! I was going to email ya but, you have a no-reply email coming up. You sew both sides all the way up. When I started mine I back stitch so that the ruffle would stay in place. You can go back over the stitches once the scarf is ruffled to keep them put. Or you can just tie it off at the end. That way you can adjust the ruffles to how you like them whenever you wear it. If you have anymore questions email me. MandiBeingCrafty at gmail {dot} com
